Synopsis: Newly turned vampire Kira has earned a reputation for breaking the rules. So when a student is murdered at her high school, via fang-bite, all fingers point to Kira. But she swears she had nothing to do with it! In order to prove her innocence she has to show her family that there’s another vampire in town. She’s pretty sure it’s one of three new guys who’ve moved in recently—so she goes about dating them all. Dating three cute boys may be fun, but which one is the murdering vampire? And what if he’s the boy she’s falling for…?

Review: The sad unfortunate thing about such books is that the characters tend to be not so developed. I have read many of these books like Snowed In by Rachel Hawthorne, Caribbean Cruising by Rachel Hawthorne, Better Latte Than Never by Catherine Clark etc and they were all quite predictable and had a lack of depth. But if I overlooked it, I found the story cute.

It was fun reading about the vampire family, sure, vampires are certainly not the most original genre but it was still interesting to read about. However, I felt that the sleuthing that she did to find out the murderer was more of an excuse to hang out with cute guys. Most of the time, Kira would gush about how ‘hot’ the suspect is and that plain annoyed me. On the other hand, Kira’s witty retorts and her spunky attitude makes up for her bad points. Summers did a convincing job make Kira’s yearning for a normal life believable. Though Kira does not constantly want to be a human, she does occasionally wish she could be human and have a boyfriend and a normal life. Nevertheless, I did like the plot twist at the end, about how Kira died and became a vampire.

Overall, Summers has written a pleasant lighthearted read which will be of interest to girls looking for a quick read with a touch of paranormal.
