YA book reviews, reading and recommending since 2009

It’s been a while

Hey my fellow book lovers, I know I have been gone for a while. I guess some where along the way I lost interest in reviewing because I felt like I had run out of things to say and that I’d repeat myself in every review. In the past few months so much has happened and I don’t even know where to begin! My dear faithful readers, I can’t promise anything, but I will be reviewing books again! I haven’t received books in a long time, to be honest, so all the books would be either bought or borrowed from the library. Hope you’re looking forward to the reviews. One of the upcoming reviews will definitely include Forever by Maggie Stiefvater. Stay tuned!

An explanation

I have been MIA lately and forgot to post to tell you why! I would launch into a long boring detailed explanation but I will spare you the agony. ๐Ÿ˜‰

To sum up the extremely long paragraphs: sometimes we all need a break right? You don’t want me to end up like this right?

I kid, I kid. But seriously, poor Lady Gaga, she must have been exhausted.

Don’t fret, I’m coming back from my mini vacation and will back to writing reviews in no time. In fact, I have some mini reviews scheduled to be posted tomorrow. ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S. like the new layout? Gorgeous right? Thanks Sophie! If you’d like to make me a layout header, shoot me a email at kate.readthisbook (at) gmail (dot) com.

P.P.S. Evernight fans, you are in for a treat! A once-in-a-lifetime chance to have lunch/dinner with CLAUDIA GRAY and she’ll talk with you about the series, upcoming books, writing, publishing, Stefan vs. Damon, you name it! Find out how here!

Merry Christmas

A big thank you to all the authors and publishers who have participated in contests, interviews and donated review copies, it was wonderful working with you to promote your books! ๐Ÿ™‚

Reviews.. yes I am behind in some reviews and I will try to get them done once I finish my work. Let just put it this way, I have kind of been in a ‘sad’ mood lately and if you seen the books I’ve been reading, you’d know that the past four books I read consecutively are about death. No, I am not suicidal or anything. =P Just that when Kate has issues, she reads books with issues. And I have a hard time reviewing books about death. My reviews would not do justice to the books.

August Wrap-up

I don’t do wrap-ups every month because I’m super busy but here’s August Wrap-up!

This month I reviewed:
Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
As You Wish by Jackson Pearce
Prada and Prejudice by Mandy Hubbard
Donut Days by Lara Zielin
L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad
The Demonโ€™s Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan
Knife by R.J. Anderson
Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr

This month I read 14 books and half books. I still haven’t finished reading one book which is The Dark Divine. xD

Well…

I hate top say this but I’ve been a very bad student. My grades are suffering big time because of the time spent on reading and the computer. As a result, I am limiting myself to read only at the most 4 books a week. I have to pull up my socks, even though I will look like a nerd… uh kidding! But seriously, I can’t afford to let my grades slip any further. It will end up lower than the temperature in my refrigerator. (Another lame attempt to joke).

So I hope you understand that I am not posting as much as before and I’m likely to do mini reviews more often than actual full reviews. But if your a publisher who sent me book(s), don’t worry! All ARCs will be given a full review about 2-5 weeks before the release date.

I’m just taking some time off to study. I will get some bloggers to do guest posts. Think that will be fun… interested in guest blogging? Shoot me an email at kate.readthisbook [at] gmail [dot] com.
