Win A Map Of The Known World

I held a mini contest a while back whereby you gave Stephanie Hale your birthday wishes and you are entered to win A Map of the Known World by Lisa Ann Sandell (not sure whether pb or hc). But there are only five entries and I decided to give you another chance to win. This will not happen again. ๐Ÿ˜› Those who commented here are already entered so no worries.

Recommend a book to me that is not a love story. Something sad please. Can be family issues, disorders, anything! But the book has to be out in paperback.

When commenting please put your comment number. Example:

I strongly recommend….

US residents only, winners announced tomorrow (April 12).

Next month’s contests to look out for: Twitter contest!
And thanks for all the suggestions (keep ’em coming)! Would like to hear opinions of Sarah Dessen. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Congrats to

cursingmama who won Spring Breakup
blodeuedd who won Violet On The Runway
deltay who won Oh. My. Gods.

All these winners were drawn from the bag so it’s fair for all (extra entires were included as well). It was so fun having all of you commenting and I’m definitely having more contests in the near future.

Reviews for Evermore and Zombie Queen of Newbury High out in the next two days. No matter how nice Amanda is, I’m not going to be bias with her review. Gasp! So what will the verdict be? I’ll leave that up to you to decide. Where’s the fun if I told you? ๐Ÿ˜›

Contests you should check out!

Now that my contest is over, I shall share some awesome contests with you guys.

Addicted To Books is having a sweet sixteen contest! She’s giving away four books, Taken By Storm by Angela Morrison, Purge by Sarah Darer Littman, Raven by Allison van Diepen and Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols. Pop over to her blog for more details.

Sharon is giving Me, my elf, & I by Heather Swain (ends Apr 21).

Cyn Balog is having a awesome contest where you can win a signed copy of Fairy Tale and necklaces. Wee! :] Her book comes out June 23.

I made this banner! Please ask me for permission before using it! I created it because the countdown widget on Cyn’s site won’t work on WordPress. =(

The Story Siren is spreading the word on Fresh Films!
Fresh Films is the largest teen filmmaking program in the United States, and it’s now taking applications for the 2009 season! They provide instruction, the film equipment and the funding teens to each make a real short film (each one is about 10 minutes long.)

Once those films are finished, they premiere at an online film festival, and the winners of an audience vote go on to be a part of AFI Fest in Los Angeles, which is one of the biggest International film festivals in the world.

Every movie they make is made by teens, from beginning to end. And after more than 300 productions, more than half of these films have gone on to compete at national and international film festivals. TEN of them have earned Academy Award eligibility! That’s right- you could make a movie this summer that could win an Oscar!

For filmmakers, if you’re selected, you will spend a week in one of six production cities with 9 other teens on their crew. You will storyboard, scout, cast, direct, shoot, and edit each film from beginning to end. Not only is there a small prize pack for winning the online film festival, winners will be flown out to Los Angeles for the premiere of their film at AFI Fest.

They’ll enjoy a full day of filmmaking workshops and instruction from film industry professionals. In previous years, they’ve worked with or had workshops featuring the casts and crew of Napoleon Dynamite, director Elizabeth Allen, actors Laura Prepon and Rachael Leigh Cook, Sean Astin and many others.

3 books interview giveaway closed

It’s officially closed. I didn’t manage to receive Melissa’s part three interview because I’m guessing she’s very busy so I will just use the entries from the posts available. =) I decided not to use the random number generator and instead put everyone’s names in a bag. It’s more fun this way, agree? Stay tuned for the winners. I will probably post MW’s part three interview when she has completed it.

Thank you all for participating. I had tons of fun, hope you did too.
