Update: the trailer is not showing up properly but please be reassured that I’m working on fixing it.
Have you guys seen the trailer for Lauren Kate’s upcoming novel, Torment, the sequel to Fallen? Well, here you go!
I’m not a huge fan of Fallen but the cover for Torment is certainly pretty and enticing!
I recently read a wonderful novel and I reckon it’ll be on my best of ’10 list.
It’s none other than TELL ME A SECRET by Holly Cupala. The book had me on the edge of my seat, intense, and full of stark writing; it’s just overall excellent. I want to read more books by Ms. Cupala!
If you have not heard of TELL ME A SECRET till now, I suggest you check out the really awesome book trailer. If you have read or plan on reading or want to read this novel, leave a comment and let me know! Spread the word about this book, it’s amazing and everyone should be reading this book.
Other books I recommend (a quick list):
The Ghost and the Goth by Stacey Kade
Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
Sliding on the Edge by C. Lee McKenzie
Birthmarked by Caragh M. O’Brien
Harmonic Feedback by Tara Kelly
The Witchy Worries of Abbie Adams by Rhonda Hayter
The Owl Keeper by Christine Brodien-Jones
Guardian of the Dead by Karen Healey
I know I haven’t been reviewing lately but this list are books I read during the past few months and I highly recommend them! GO and check them out the next time you’re at the bookstore.
As the book I’m about to rave about won’t be published till 2011 in USA, I will keep this ‘review’ short and sweet. A Most Improper Magick by Stephanie Burgis is one of the best MG books out there. Do not be put off by the term Middle Grade, this book is for everyone of all ages. A Most Improper Magick was laugh-out-loud funny, the kind that makes you giggle uncontrollably. But what makes this novel even more terrific is that the characters all have a notably authentic voice and I’d love to spend a day with them.
I strongly encourage you to read the first chapter and discover how wonderful this book simply is. And if you have read the book, let me know and I’ll gush about it with you!
The Unladylike Adventures of Kat Stephenson, Book One: A Most Improper Magick will be published on August 1, 2010 in the UK, and in Spring 2011 in the US.
Or if you cannot wait till 2011, you can always enter Stephanie’s giveaway!! GO GO GO!
What people are saying about A Most Improper Magick:
“Chock full of humor, romance, adventure, and family, A Most Improper Magick belongs on every proper bookshelf.” –Tiffany Trent, author of the Hallowmere series.
“Kat Stephenson is the very best sort of heroine: one who can rescue herself.”– Lisa Mantchev, author of Eyes Like Stars and Perchance to Dream
And what do I have to say? A highly recommended read that is not to be missed!
Watch the UK book trailer:
Shade is one book I am very excited about! (Note: It’s OUT already in USA!) I have heard so many good things about it. Look what Lisa Schroeder has to say about Shade:
“The perfect combination of mystery, ghosts and romance, SHADE left me breathless.” — Lisa Schroeder, author of I HEART YOU, YOU HAUNT ME and CHASING BROOKLYN
Maggie Stiefvater, author of Shiver released the trailer (made by her!) for the upcoming Linger a few days ago! Oh my gosh, it’s amazing isn’t it? Watch it now if you haven’t! Maggie is also currently having a contest where you can win all sorts of Linger related items! Including a SIGNED Linger dust jacket and Shiver inspired necklace! Go and enter!
